Smashbox Haul!!

Now that we are in the middle of summer I have been noticing that my foundation and face products are much lighter than my true skin tone. Sooooo naturally I decide it was the perfect excuse to splurge at one of my favorite stores Ulta Beauty because there is nothing more important when it comes to cosmetics than quality makeup products to protect your skin. Although I have been loving my Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation I don’t feel like I need a foundation that gives off a full coverage look during the summertime. After browsing internet reviews and the Ulta make up aisles I decided to go on a Smashbox haul. I have heard such amazing things about this cosmetic line so I decided to try something new and I am so glad I did!

The first Smashbox product I purchased is the Photo Finish Foundation Primer. After using this makeup primer I finally understand why this has been a must have item for so many makeup artists. This is the most lightweight primer, that actually is long lasting, I have ever used. (and another benefit is this product is cruelty free!!!) Other than this aspect I think my favorite quality this product possesses is that it works so well with face makeup that it actually holds onto the product and prevents it from penetrating pores which will prevent breakouts and acne. Although this product is $36 you can buy a smaller tube for just $16 that still contains a substantial amount. I cannot wait to make this primer apart of my daily makeup routine!

The next Smashbox item I applied was the Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation. The first thing I noticed about this product is how many different shades it has. With over 20 different shades you are sure to find the match for you, whether you have skin fairest of them all or a deep rich skin tone. The listed benefits of this product are endless so I decided to put them to the test. I applied the 2.4 neutral beige shade to my face around 10 am and proceeded with my normal day which entails working at my internship office, hanging out with one of my best friends, and a workout in the evening at The Bar Method. By the time I was ready to take off my makeup about 12 hours had passed and not only was my skin comfortable but my foundation was almost perfectly intact. Yes I could have used a touch up or two, but other than that all the other benefits including being sweat resistant and lightweight were true. Overall I am so happy with this product and would definitely 10/10 recommend for all skin types!

The last product I purchased and tested from Smashbox today was their Step-By-Step Contour Stick Trio. This was my first contouring experience and I wanted to find something that was easy to use yet effective. My first instinct was to use the new viral KKW Beauty Creme Contour Kit, but I challenged myself to see if I could find something that was a better product than the KKW Kit because of how difficult it is to purchase before it sells out! Well I definitely think I outdid myself because in my opinion this product is better than the KKW Kits because of how much product is included in the trio and the amazing pay off with just one swipe across the cheek. I would describe this product as the contouring community’s best kept secret because before going to Ulta this week I had never heard of it! In the package comes 3 sticks to contour, bronze and highlight, #SHAPEMATTERS insert with how-to’s for ALL face shapes, and a sharpener. My first thought when I finished the applying the product was I don’t think my face and skin has ever looked more sculpted or defined yet natural. After completing my makeup today and using the Smashbox Contour Stick Trio I was thrilled with my makeup. I honestly think this creamy and easy to blend product was the main ingredient to this radiant look.

These Smashbox face products gave me to die for features without having to be a contouring expert and I cannot wait to explore the rest of their cosmetics!
